Yesterday I had to opportunity to hang out with J.R. Lee and go to hear a Church Planting talk at Woodstock First Baptist. It was a cool conference. I heard Vance Pitman  from Hope Baptist Church in Las Vegas talk about his experience in planting their church and how it has grown to around 2,000 people in four years.

Vance shared something that really stuck with me. Church Planting can’t just be about establishing another church. It must be bigger than that. Church Planting must be about advancing the Kingdom of God. Acts 1:3 says that Jesus came back after his resurection and spoke about one thing, the Kingdom of God. Church Planting must be about avancing the Kingdom of God.

I want this church plant to be all about the Kingdom…
